After reading "Song of the Vampire" I couldn't wait to read the next book in the series. It didn't disappoint! It might even be better than the first.
In the first installment we learned a lot about Quinn's past. This book really delves deeper into Nadia and Tristan, and what happened to them.
Quinn and Giselle begin having problems. Although their relationship looks perfect on paper, it doesn't mean that they really ARE written in the stars. Will their love be able to survive reality?
Great book! I definitely would suggest starting with Song of the Vampire before reading this one.
I can only hope their will be a third book! I've become so attached to the characters.

Under A Bourbon Street Moon A paranormal vampire romance The Vampyr Series Book 2 edition by K M McFarland Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
The first book in this series was a sweet beginning and this one was an excellent follow-up. There's a lot of family history that's hashed out in this installment, so the reader needs to pay close attention. Overall, it was a sweet and spicy read that promises more to come! I'm definitely looking forward to the third book in the series! -)
If you're a fan of vampires and all things New Orleans, you will love this book. This is the second in the Vampyr series and I've loved getting to know more about the characters as the series has progressed. The main vampire family, Quinn and Nadia, stayed true to character. I also look forward to getting to know more about the new members to the family in the next book.
I liked the first book, Song of the Vampire and when I heard there was a sequel, I had to check it out. And I have to admit, I had mixed feelings about it. There were some parts that I enjoyed, while other parts I didn’t like so much.
In the first book, I didn't care for Giselle too much, but by the end I began to warm towards her. However, in the sequel my original feeling for her returned. At times, Giselle comes across as annoying with her insecurities, especially when she fusses about Quinn’s past relationships and complains about how he’s nothing like her husband, Myles.
One major source of contention for the couple is the return of Quinn's ex, Pam. I loved Pam from the beginning and I loved reading about her past with Quinn, although Quinn wasn’t the best boyfriend to her, I liked how they made amends and I was rooting for them to get back together. The one thing that bothered me about Pam is how she was written out; I would’ve loved to have seen her stick around.
Aside from Pam, the couple also has to deal with Amber, Quinn's long lost daughter that he never knew. Amber is another character that I fell in love with because she has a sweet and bubbly personality. I loved reading about her backstory and how Quinn and the others were quick to welcome her into the family. However, I would’ve liked to have seen a little tension between her and Nadia.
As for Nadia and Tristan, they weren’t featured as much as I would’ve liked, but they do have their own story. The couple reveals secrets about their past that will surprise you and you’ll see new characters pop up, who are connected to the couple.
Once again, a very fun read!!
As the story progresses and new characters come into the story, I realize that if you can live forever, things can get very complicated...
Love the family members, love the reminders of all those New Orleans sights and sounds that I miss so much, and will be eager to see what comes next!!
A great escape from too much reality!
It seems like there has been a flood of vampire-related stories recently and it has becoming increasingly difficult to separate the wheat from the chaff so to speak. 'Under a Bourbon Street Moon Vampyr' definitely ranks as one of the best vamp-genre books I've read in 2014. I love how the themes of romance, friendship (and even some social commentary thrown in!) is weaved into the story un-facetiously.
The character development of Nadia is such a joy to watch.
After reading "Song of the Vampire" I couldn't wait to read the next book in the series.
