This was a decent story overall and I liked Zelda and Lance. However, this is the first story I've read by this author and based off this story, I don't think her writing style is right for me so I'm not sure if I'll try more of her work in the future.

Zelda is a young woman that's been living in a penthouse apartment since she was 16. Zelda is the ward of an adoptive mother that is cold at best. At 16, Zelda's mother claimed she was sick and locked her away, insisting it was for her own good and only allowing certain people to interact with Zelda.

Lance is a Polar Bear shifter that runs a business airlifting stuff to people. Lance lost his parents at a young age and was raised by his Grandparents. He didn't find out his parents left him loads of money until he was 18 so he's a down-to-earth type of guy.

So the story is short and the book description gives most of the basics so I can't say much. I will say that since it's a shifter romance, there are fated-mates and insta-love. The story almost seems a bit simplistic during some parts and while I liked the way things unfolded in some ways, other parts kind of fell flat for me. But, the ending turned out much better than expected and while I didn't like the unneeded drama towards the end, I did like the way things worked out. Lance and Zelda do end the story together and starting on a HEA.

This was an enjoyable story overall. Zelda was interesting...she was sheltered and didn't know much of anything and I guess that's expected (at least mostly) considering the constraints on her. Lance was a good hero and I liked him. The story was alright but I did have to "suspend disbelief" a bit more than I'd have liked at times. Thankfully, it ended well (and I got it for free). :)

Another great story to the shifter fairytale stories. This one focuses on Zelda, the Rapunzel, of the story. And Lance, a distant cousin of the Asher Lumber Company. Zelda is kept in a penthouse and until she meets Lance, then everything changes for both of them.

Love these stories and love the twist near the end.
Zelda is forced to stay in a penthouse by her adoptive mother. She is told she was sick when it started and now, it is lingering. Her adopted mother was always traveling for business and Zelda was left alone. Then, Lance came into town and came to visit Zelda. It turns out her mom has sinister plans for her. Lance realizes that Zelda is his mate.

A paranormal Rapunzel story - with a cruel twist. The guardian of the girl is trying to "sell" her as a mate, having taken care of her education since she was small.
The Prince - rescuing her from the evil guardian and giving her all she ever wanted, including her freedom...
I received this story as an ARC, but I cannot wait to get hold of the next book and read another shifter infused fairy tale.
This is a great take on the old fairy tales. BUT this is Definitely for mature readers only! I love how Sable Sylvan took the idea from Rapunzel and re-wrote it in this hot shifter romance.

I am so hooked on all of her books about fated mates. I love how she has mate marks. Her descriptions and the way she writes her tales! Outstanding.

Well i really can't say much other than this story is a great re-write . It is HOT HOT HOT.
Zelda is a girl/bear shifter with secrets. Secrets that she is completely unaware of. She is also a girl who is kept in a gilded cage (penthouse) by her often absent mother. She has no friends, no life skills. She has to order food to eat as she cannot prepare a meal. Lance is a man/bear shifter who happens to be looking for a mate. (He is also a billionaire.) They are introduced to each other by Zelda's mother. A friendship turns to love. Can the couple survive the secrets they uncover. Will Zelda be strong enough to be her own person and fight for the man she loves? I found the storyline to read well. The characters were interesting. This was a unique twist to a week known fairytale. Shifter style. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I'll admit I was not sure what to expect from this title, but I was curious, and was looking for a done in one read of short to moderate length, so I decided to give this a go. The characters were fun and interesting, the world building, with regards to the shifters, was enough to fill. In all the blanks and answer questions as I had them without ever feeling like I suddenly was reading a couple of paragraphs of exposition. I was charmed in the right ways and places, Zelda delighted me with her determination, resourcefulness, and the ways in which her brains showed... and in the end the tower worked for me.

I came out of this curious about the author's other stories.
